In today’s world of ever-evolving technology and high-speed internet, you can find virtually any information ranging from tips on how to make an omelette to data about the effect quantum computation of tech trends.

However, more often than not, we usually have to comb through several pieces of information to find what we want. That’s why Pulse Tech has curated a list of the most effective ways to use Google Search when you need to find something. Check them out below:

The Power of ‘Or’: Sometimes we are not sure the specific information we are looking for or if we can remember the terms we want to search correctly but no need to fret. All you need to do is to include an “|” or “OR” between the terms and it would be much easier to find any information you’re looking for.

Take advantage of those synonyms: There are lots and lots of synonyms in the English language. Sometimes, you can use this to your advantage when doing online research. If you need to find info on any subject matter rather than a specific phrase, simply add the “~” symbol. For example, if you search “healthy~food” you will get links about healthy eating guides, cooking recipes and healthy dining suggestions.

Search within websites: Sometimes, you see an interesting article on a particular website and want to share with your friends or just read it again. All you have to do is search from the website by typing the name of the website and a key word or phrase from the article and it should come up in the search results.

Asterisks are powerful: A lot of times, we find it hard to remember a key word, number, or phrase required for the search query we want to carry out. You can find what you’re looking for by simply adding the “*” to what you can remember and the search results should bring you what you’re looking for.

Lot’s of words missing? No problem: If its the longer part of a phrase or sentence that you can’t remember, find what you’re looking for by typing the part you remember and adding “AROUND + [the number of possible missing words in the search query]” and voila, you’re good to go. For example, “I wandered AROUND (4) cloud.”

Use these Google search tips and you’ll find yourself being more productive in conducting your research or finding information via Google on the Internet.
