In a statement signed by his media aide, Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalong has denied the alleged claims by newsmen of the clash between  his supporters and those of the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, in Shendam local government area.

The cause of the alleged clash was traced to the Solomon Dalong's 2019 ambition.

“I read with serious concern, stories making the news about a purported clash between my supporters and that of the executive governor when I honored him at a festival of Gemai Ethnic Group in Shendam.”

“Therefore, it may be a market strategy for a segment of the press to sell their papers or the handwork of idle minds who benefit greatly when crisis of political differences flourish”.

The Sport Minister explained that  Governor Lalong was not only a close friend but a colleague, and he also made reference to the fact that like  other governors under the present dispensation, it is normal for  Lalong to experience  challenges such as huge debt profiles and paucity of funds.

Dalong used the opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to be patient with the current  administration, making reference to the "destruction" by the past administration.

“It took 16 years to destroy. It cannot be rebuilt within just 6 months. We are leaders with integrity but certainly not miracle makers, therefore I appeal to Nigerians to give us time to deliver on our promises. There’s no cause for panic. We are on cause and by the grace of God, it is well”.
