Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is planning to assassinate him.

Amaechi stated further that the alleged assassination attempt would take place on Saturday, March 28, the date for the Presidential elections.

The governor made the allegations on Wednesday, March 25, during an emergency news conference in Lagos.
“Even yesterday, (Tuesday), the Military had recce in my village. If the president wants me dead, I should let the public know before I am shot dead by the president and his people,” Amaechi said.
Amaechi said further that the plan was meant to be carried out on February 14, the initial day for the election but was shifted along with the polls.
