US law firm, Tacopina and Seigel has confirmed that it has been hired by Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro in a court case against online news platform, Sahara Reporters.

Senior Partner and founder, Joe Tacopina exclusively informed Pulse that the firm had indeed been retained by Obanikoro.

“I can confirm that the Senator [Obanikoro] has retained my firm to represent him in a possible lawsuit against Sahara Reporters,” Tacopina said via email on February 12, 2015.

Obanikoro is suing Sahara Reporters for defamation of character after the news platform released a recording which allegedly featured him, Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose and Senator Iyiola Omisore discussing plans to rig the June 2014 elections in the state.
