PDP suspends oil magnate for anti-party comments

His suspension has been referred to the party's National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

This was announced by the party on Thursday, September 21, 2017 after a meeting by the committee who said the matter has been referred to the party's National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

The statement issued by the party read, "The National Caretaker Committee today announced the suspension of Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, over his disparaging & unfounded allegations against some party members and elders.

"Dr. Ubah while expressing his dissatisfaction with the decisions of the National Caretaker Committee on the report of the Anambra Guber Appeal Panel which affirmed the election of Hon. Oseloka Obaze, made several allegations against the party over which he was queried.

After losing the party's ticket to Hon. Oseloka Obaze, Dr. Ubah alleged that the primaries was fraught with irregularities and that the party's leadership had refused to address his complaints on it.

The Chairman of Capital Oil alleged that Obaze's victory at the primaries was not achieved through a transparent, free and fair process, describing it as "a fraudulent exercise."

At a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, September 19, he vowed to approach the court after exhausting all the internal mechanisms to address the issues as stipulated in PDP constitution.

The party has also served Senator Buruji Kashamu with a query over his involvement in some issues in Ogun state chapter of the PDP.

The National Disciplinary Committee has given 2 weeks to report back on the concerned parties.
