According to a report by Daily Independent Newspaper, the armed Policemen have sealed off the Wadata Plaza National secretariat following the fallout of the factionalisation of the party, which led to different groups holding two National conventions on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

The report further revealed that while all the policemen previously attached to the secretariat to provide daily security for the edifice have been removed, the presence of the fully armed policemen have prevented sacked National Chairman, Ali Modu-Sheriff from conducting a press conference on Sunday, May 22, 2016.

It was also reported that the immediate past National Secretary of the party, Prof Wale Oladipo and Ali Modu-Sheriff, who were allegedly sacked by the convention held in Port-Harcourt have teamed up to protest their sack.

The national congress of the PDP, which held in Port Harcourt as authorised by the Independent National Electoral Committee had sacked Ali Modu Sheriff and installed a 7-man caretaker committee led by ex-Gov. Makarfi.
