The opposition party also urged citizens to submit themselves to God and commit the nation and its leaders to him in prayers.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention in the affairs of the country.

This was contained in an Eid El- Kabir message issued by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

It reads:

“Indeed, the Eid-el-Kabir, while teaching great lessons in faith, the Almighty God also provides us the opportunity to humble ourselves as a people and seek God’s intervention for our dear country.”

“We must therefore seize this divine doorway and collectively pray for our leaders to be divinely guided against actions and inactions that tend to divide the nation, create tension and threaten our bond as one people under God, who, in His infinite wisdom, destined Nigeria a united and prosperous nation where the welfare, freedom and happiness of all citizens are guaranteed.”

Metuh also urged the Federal Government to make haste in charting a course of governance in the country in order to fulfill its campaign promises to Nigerians.
