Prof. Adewale Oladipo, the National Secretary to Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff- led faction of People Democratic Party (PDP) said that Sheriff was not sacked by any court order.

This is contained in a statement signed by Oladipo and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said that the attention of the party had been drawn to reports circulating in the media that a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court had ousted Sheriff, the disputed the national chairman of the PDP.

He described the report as completely false and a clear misrepresentation of the ruling of the court saying it never gave any ruling ousting Sheriff.

``For the avoidance of doubt, the court only heard and delivered judgment on a matter concerning certain amendments in the PDP constitution.

``This has nothing to do with the election of Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman or even that of his predecessor, Alhaji Adamu Muazu.

Oladipo said that Sheriff was duly elected as the national chairman of the party and ``still holds office as the national chairman.

``We therefore urge those misleading the media and the unsuspecting public to desist from such.

``The media is also urged to always cross-check their facts before going to press,’’ he said.
