First Lady appeals to Nigerian women to support Aisha Buhari

The First Lady has appealed to Nigerian women to work with Aisha Buhari to enable her deliver on the tasks ahead.

Almost 24-hours after the official declaration of Muhammadu Buhari as the winner in the March 28 Presidential election in Nigeria, the incumbent First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has congratulated the wife of the President-elect, Aisha Buhari on the election of her husband.

In a statement signed by her Media officer, Ayo Adewuyi, the First Lady urged Nigerian women to work with Aisha Buhari and give her the maximum support to make her succeed in her new assignment.

It would be recalled that Patience Jonathan was in the fore front of her husband’s presidential campaigns and she repeatedly launched verbal attacks on General Buhari during her campaign outings. She had referred to him as ‘brain dead’ amongst many other derogatory statements.
