Prof. Oluremi Sonaiya, the Presidential Candidate of KOWA Party in the 2015 general elections, said on Thursday in Abuja that she endorsed the fight against corruption by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

She said that the Federal Government had taken an important step in its fight against corruption in the country.

Sonaiya said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the official presentation of a report entitled Being a Man in Nigeria: Perceptions and Realities’’.
If the money that we should be using to make life better for ourselves is not stolen, then it will be put into education and providing services for people and life will be better for everybody.
"So, I pray that they will continue and also go beyond and really work towards enlightening the Nigerian populace.
"A society does not develop, if its citizens are not properly educated.’’
She said that lack of education and poverty hindered women from supporting and voting for female candidates vying for elective positions.
According to her, poverty needs to be tackled and citizens need to be educated in order to have a better society.
Sonaiya advocated for a greater representation of women in the current administration and called for more appointment of women into key positions.
She noted that of the 109 senators, only eight are women, describing the development as poor.
