The news of Chief Olu Falae, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was met with excitement, as friends, family members and well wishers waited in his Ondo home for his arrival.
A visibly shaken Falae was escorted back by men of the Police force, led by the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase at about 4.14pm.
The former SGF narrated his ordeal saying he was made to walk a long distance, and sleep on the bare floor.
Falaye said his kidnappers were Fulani herdsmen.
Vanguard reports that his abductors dropped him at Owo, in front of Joyland Hotel in Owo, where he was picked up by security operatives.
Speaking to newsmen, the police boss, Solomon Arase said “The important thing now is that Baba Falae is back home safe and sound according to the mandate given to me by the President.
Adding that “President Muhammadu Buhari gave me a mandate and that is what I have done exactly, rescuing Baba Falae and bringing him back home safe and sound.’’
“We are going to diversify our strategy so that hoodlums will not overwhelm the state. We will continue to degrade, catch and bring them to book,” Arase said.
