APC accuses Rivers Governor of using state funds to sponsor PDP

The party accused Wike of allegedly diverting state funds for various uses, including sponsoring the national activities of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a warning to all banks in the state, not to give loans to the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The party accused Wike of allegedly diverting state funds for various uses, including sponsoring the national activities of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to Punch Newspapers, the Chairman, Rivers APC, Chief Davies Ikanya said “Let me warn all the banks not to give Nyesom Wike loans. But if they give him loans, that means that they are collaborating with the governor to take money belonging to Rivers people.”

He also said “For more than five months since Wike took over the governorship position, he has not assisted the police, the navy and other security agencies.”

Adding that “Wike is not doing anything on security. We don’t believe that Wike actually gave 62 vehicles to the police and other security agencies in the state.”

Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike assumed office as the 6th Governor of Rivers State, on 29 May 2015.
