APC files 6 petitions against PDP at Tribunal in Ekiti

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has filed six petitions at the Election Petition Tribunal challenging the March 28 and April 11 National and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

The counsel for the petitioner, Ibrahim Olanrewaju, confirmed the petitions to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, May 7. He said two petitions were filed for the Senatorial poll while four were filed in the State House of Assembly election.

According to him, the senatorial election petitions were filed by the APC aspirants in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Ambassador Gbenga Olofin, and the incumbent Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Senator Tony Adeniyi,against Fatimat Raji-Rasaki and Biodun Olujimi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) respectively.

The two PDP candidates were declared winners of the polls.

Candidates of the outgoing party are also being challenged by the APC in Ado I, Ise Orun, Ekiti South West I and Oye I State constituencies in the election.
