The son of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro has lost to his opponent in the Lagos State House of Assembly elections.

Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro (IBO), sought to occupy the Eti-Osa constituency II seat and contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was however defeated by incumbent Gbolahan Yishawu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The younger Obanikoro won 9,544 votes while Yishawu won 9,782, a mere 238 votes ahead.

On Saturday, April 11, 2015, the day the elections were held, Obanikoro was engaged in an altercation with officials of the Independent National Electroal Commission (INEC) after he was allegedly caught distributing money at a polling unit.
