The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has rejected the results of the April 11 governorship elections in the state which its candidate, Jimi Agbaje lost.

Agbaje won 659,788 votes but lost to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode who won 811,994 votes.

The PDP agent, Tajudeen Agoro however refused to sign the final result sheet from the elections saying that he “cannot accept the results”.

The refusal came despite Agbaje’s concession of defeat to Ambode via a congratulatory phone call made on Sunday, April 12.

Agoro condemned the electoral process, saying that it was marred by irregularities.

He also expressed disappointment that the alleged irregularities were not recorded by the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, Oyewole Olusola.

Agoro went further to demand the nullification of Ambode’s victory due to the votes cancelled in the state.

However, Oyewole, said that the elections could not be cancelled because the total number of void votes (13,502)was less than the differential votes of 152,206.
