The website of the Independent National Electoral Commission has been hacked.

A group that parade itself as Nigerian Cyber ARMY has claimed responsibility for the hack.

 According to INEC’s Twitter handle @inecnigeria; the commission is investigating the cyber-attack.

We are aware of the recent hack of our @inecnigeria website, we are currently investigating this incident #NigeriaDecides;” a tweet from the Twitter account read.

The Information on the INEC website: www.inecnigeria.org reads:

UPDATE:

The INEC website has been restored.

The CPS to INEC Chairman, Kayode Idowu confirms the website has been taken back from the hackers.

When asked if the database of the website and information gathered from the card readers have been compromised, he clearly stated it had been not.
