Card reader rejects LP candidate 4 times before accreditation

It was gathered that there were various reports of malfunctioned card readers at Salawu’s area and even the LP candidate was rejected by the machine four times.

Just as Kogi first lady, Halima Wada and her hubby, Gov, Idris Wada had issues with the card reader machine while carrying out her civic right, the candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. Phillip Salawu, was faced with a similar rejection.

According to a report by Sunday Punch, Salawu, who is a former deputy governor of the state, has joined some of the Kogi stakeholders, who have been lamenting the inadequacy of the card reader machine.

The card reader reportedly failed to recognise Dr Salawu's finger prints for about four times until he was eventually accredited.

However, it was a different tune for Gov Wada's Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, who voted at Unit 2 in Ileteju Ward of Mopamuro LGA at 1.45pm.

Awoniyi commended INEC for the logistics put in place while noting that with the reports he got from across the local government area, commendation must be given to the security agencies who made the election peaceful.

Awoniyi also hailed the people of Mopamuro for their peaceful conduct and optimism in turning out en mass to vote the candidate of their choice.
