The River State elections petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has invalidated the election of the state’s Speaker, Owaji Ibani, and 20 other lawmakers in the House of Assembly.
Tribunal sacks Speaker, 20 other PDP lawmakers
The April 11 2015 election that produced the People’s Democratic Party’s lawmakers was said to have been marred by rigging and violence.

Pulse recalls that the state governor Nyesom Wike, was also sacked on Saturday by a tribunal, based on fraudulent electoral activities during the gubernatorial poll held in the state.
However, the PDP still maintains a majority in the house.
