Mr Akintunde Adegboye, the Deputy Speaker, Osun House of Assembly has urged caretaker committee management nominees to see their appointment as a call to service the people, if cleared.

The members are being screened for appointment in the 30 local government and local council development areas in the state.

Adegboye gave the advice during the screening of the nominees at the plenary in Osogbo on Wednesday.

He also advised the nominees not see their appointment as an opportunity for self enrichment but as an opportunity to serve their communities.

The deputy speaker, who described local government as the nearest government to the people, further urged the nominees to make their presence felt by the people, if cleared.

Adegboye said that as party faithful who understood action plans of the party, they would be expected to administer their councils in line with the dream of the party.

He also called on them to exhibit accountability, transparency and probity in their actions.

In his speech, Mr Wasiu Adebayo, the House Committee Chairman on Local Government, said the nominees so far screened were not found wanting during the exercise screening.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Najeem Salaam read the letter on April 10 at the plenary.
