Governor Shettima sent a list of 40 nominees to the Assembly but only 20 were approved on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Explaining the move, Speaker, Abdulkarim Lawal, stated that the legislators reduced the governor’s aides due to the financial situation in the state and in a bid to cut cost.
The motion for the reduction of the number of advisers was moved by Mohammad Zakari, the House Leader.
