The Yobe Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday, May 21, assured parties of transparent dispensation of justice in all cases before it.

The tribunal chairman, Justice Mojisola Dada, gave the assurance at its inaugural sitting at the FCT High Court, Nyanya, Abuja.

“I assure you that this tribunal is committed to ensuring an enhanced, expeditious and transparent justice system.

“This Panel is conscious of our oaths towards accomplishing this onerous task in this call to national assignment, with a dispassionate determination and focus, without fear or favour, affection or ill will.

“There cannot therefore be any dereliction from the status of integrity,’’ the judge said.

She warned that the tribunal will not tolerate any deliberate misuse of court process by the parties.

“Let me emphasise here that this tribunal will not tolerate any deliberate attempt to cause delay because the integrity of the justice system is at stake.

“That is why we have taken a common position, that all applications will be taken along with the petition, so as to accord them a meritorious consideration”, she said.

Other members of the tribunal are Justice Stella-Maris Ururuka-Onyensoh and Justice Audu Bako.
