According to reports, not less than 100,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors include former State Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Tony Ukasanya, Channels TV reports.

The new APC members were received by the party’s state Chairman, Donatus Nwankpa who said he was delighted at the change taking place in the party and felt challenged at the enormous support of the people.

Nwankpa also promised that the defectors would be well integrated into the party.

The PDP state chairman, Emma Nwaka however said that the opposition party would not miss the converts adding that they would return to the PDP soon.
