In a ruling delivered in Abuja on Friday, June 23, 2017, the Benue state lawmaker of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was ordered to vacate the position for Mato, adjudged to be the winner of the party's ticket.
He was also ordered to return all the salaries and benefits he has enjoyed for the period he was in office within 90 days.
Hembe, a graduate of Law from Benue State University, was first elected into the Federal House of Representatives in 2007.
As chairman of the House Committee on Capital Market, Hembe was probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a N44 million bribery scandal in 2012.
