The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ordered the chairman of Osun State branch to take disciplinary action against former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

The NWC gave the order on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, via a statement signed by PDP National Secretary, Wale Oladipo.

“The NWC at its meeting held on Wednesday, 20th May, 2015, reviewed the press war mounted against the NWC by Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode,” Oladipo said.

The statement further urged that necessary action be taken against Fani-Kayode for his contravention of Section 58(1)(b) of the party constitution.

Section 59 (1) of the PDP Constitution states further that “Any member of the party who commits any of the offences listed in Section 56(1) a-g of this Constitution shall be liable to any or a combination of the following penalties: (a) Reprimand, (b) Censure, (c) Fine, (d) Suspension with a fine, (e) Debarment from holding any party office; (f) Removal from office (g) Expulsion.”

Fani-Kayode has been at the forefront of calls for the resignation of PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu and members of the NWC.

Mu’azu and the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Tony Anenih resigned on May 20.
