Speaker says 2016 budget will be ready by March

Dogara also said the Reps will make sure that the budget impacts the lives of common Nigerians.

 

He said “No sooner than later, hopefully by the end of next month, we will have it read.”

He also frowned at the country’s continued dependence on revenue from crude oil.

According to Today News, Dogara said “failure to diversify Nigeria’s economy in the past was the cause of the present challenges bedevilling the nation.

“If Nigeria had diversified the economy in the past, the nation would have had a prosperous economy.”

The House of Reps Speaker also called on the critics of the All Progressives Congress-led administration to stop blaming the government for the current economic challenges facing Nigeria.

He also urged the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government to make conscious efforts to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.
