President Muhammadu Buhari has not only been receiving backing of several Nigerians as well as world leaders to probe corrupt practices in the Jonathan’s administration.

But like the saying goes, ‘Charity begins at home,’ the president might need to kick off his decision to rid the country off corruption by probing sponsors of his presidential campaign.

To this end, the Ekiti State governor,, has maintained that Buhari should start by probing those who funded his presidential campaign in the first place.

In his words, ‘Some of those who sponsored the president’s election have not done any other jobs apart from holding public offices. Yet, they provided private jets and funds with which the president campaigned across the length and breadth of Nigeria. He should let Nigerians know where they got money to buy private jets and the several billions of naira spent on his election.’

The new twist to the campaign against corrupt practices by the president has kicked off a new debate though it is clear from the activities of the DSS and EFCC that the probe of the last administration is in full swing.
