PDM guber candidate, Moses Siasia calls for peace

The PDM governorship candidate also asked his supporters not to be part of any violent act that will put the party in bad light and disrupt the peace of the state.

Moses Siasia

The Bayelsa state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Movement (‎PDM), Moses Siasia has called on all Bayelsans to let peace reign in the state.

Siasia  said “I urge Bayelsans to embrace peace and shun violence. We have lost souls in the course of this election. We cannot afford to lose our own brothers because of our ambition.

"The other governorship candidates must remember the peace pact we all signed before the poll. They must urge their supporters to embrace peace. Who will we govern over if there is violence and political instability in the land? How do we deliver electoral promises when violence is the order of the day?

"We must begin to look beyond do or die politics and develop our state, the glory of all lands.”

Adding that "the violence in Southern Ijaw on Saturday and Sunday proves that the election was marred with violence and irregularities and I use this opportunity to once again call for the disqualification of political parties involved in the irregularities and violence because this show of character totally contravenes the electoral act."

The cancellation of the elections in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa, has been a bone of contention between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
