Buhari beats Atiku, others to win ticket

Buhari beat four other aspirants, including ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to clinch the ticket.

Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari has been declared the winner of the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari beat four other aspirants, including ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to clinch the ticket.

The former ruler will represent the APC at the 2015 elections and go head to head with incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan to occupy the highest office in the land.

Buhari gathered 3,430 votes while Atiku, believed to be his major competitor, got only 954 votes.

Other contestants were Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and publisher of Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
