The chairman of the committee for the sales of forms, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan, announced the extension on Saturday at a news conference in Yola.
Lawan said the sales of nomination forms should have stopped on April 15 but was extended to April 20 due to more demands for forms by the aspirants.
``Due to the high turnout of aspirants and based on our party policy to ensure justice and fairness to all, the committee after due consultation decided to extend the sales of nomination forms,’’ he said.
Lawan said Hong Local Government had the highest number of chairmanship aspirants with eight people while Toungo Local Government had two chairmanship aspirants.
Lawan explained that women and the physically challenged were also among the aspirants on the platform of the party.
``We have seven women aspirants for chairmanship while all the physically challenged involved were all for councillorship,’’ Lawan said.
He said based on the policy of the party, women and physically challenged were given nomination forms free.
