The Taraba Governorship Election Petition Tribunal ruled on Saturday, November 7, that Alhassan was the rightful winner of the polls and ordered Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to vacate the position immediately.
However, presidential media aide, Femi Adesina told Punch that Alhassan would still be inaugurated along with other ministerial nominees.
“The judgment was only delivered on Saturday. That was just the first level. The issue can still get up to the Supreme Court,” Adesina said.
Buhari nominated Alhassan and 35 others to make up his cabinet and will officially swear them in on November 11.
The newly-declared governor had earlier denied that the ministerial nomination was an attempt to compensate her for her loss at the governorship elections.
