The Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello has been admitted in a hospital in Germany, where he is slated to undergo an eye surgery.

This is contrary to rumours making the round on various social media platforms that the Kogi Governor is dead.

Also, a source who spoke to Punch, revealed that “The governor is not missing as being speculated. The fact is that he has an eye problem and he decided to travel to Germany for medical treatment.

“He actually travelled with some close aides, including about two or three commissioners. He is expected back in the state within two weeks, after he might have recovered from the effects of the surgery on his eyes.”

The activities of government in Kogi state has been brought to a halt because of Governor Bello’s absence, reports say.

According to another source, the Governor did not have enough time to hand over to the Deputy Governor of the state or even inform the state House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Kogi Governor's spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo, has denied report that his boss is undergoing treatments, saying that he his well.

Fanwo said “I want to state clearly here for the avoidance of doubt that the rumour lacks any iota of truth. It is a reflection of the depth the enemies of Kogi State have gone in their desperate angst against fate.”

Governor Yahaya Bello’s election victory was recently upheld by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
