Kano State Government said on Saturday that it would focus its attention more on strengthening routine immunisation as polio campaigns were almost ending.

The State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Getso, made this known in Kano at an event to mark the World Polio Day.

Getso explained that with the combined efforts of all stakeholders including traditional and religious leaders, parents, development partners as well as the media, the country would soon be listed out from polio countries.

According to him, we particularly acknowledge the efforts of the Emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido, in the crusade against polio not only in the state, but also in the country at large.
