NEMA Director of relief and rehabilitation Alhaji Aliyu Baffale Sambo kicked started the walk from the Ambulance Bay beside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the agency's headquarters in Maitama.
Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo was represented by his adviser on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Dr Femi Oke-Osayintolu while Mr Habila Joshak stood in for the inspector general of Police.
Others stakeholders that include; United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Oxford Committee for Famine Relief (OXFAM), National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), National Orientation Agency (NOA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) amongst others.
The director general of NEMA, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi received the team on arrival where he also briefed the press on significance of the day and its theme "One Community."
