A NAN correspondent who visited the Council’s registration centre for the initiative, reports that more job seekers were turning up for enrolment into the scheme.
NAN further reports that registration for the scheme commenced on March 8 across the 18 local government councils of the state.
The scheme is to enable government have statistics on the number of applicants, so as to enable it to work out modalities for placement of the 200,000 jobs to be created by the state government.
An official, who pleaded anonymity, said 4,000 applicants had so far registered for the jobs.
“Gov. Obaseki’s administration has a good agenda for the unemployed youths, irrespective of the current challenges confronting it,’’ the official said.
He urged unemployed people in the area to explore the opportunity by ensuring that they registered for the job scheme, adding that the exercise was expected to end on April 17.
