The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nigeria said the man, Abdülkadir Erkahraman, is neither a diplomat nor a civil servant or an official representative of the Government of Turkey.

A statement issued by the embassy on Sunday, September 17, said Turkey is committed to the territorial integrity and political unity of Nigeria.

"Turkey never supports secessionist activities against the Federal Republic of Nigeria," the statement said.

Erkahraman has been sharing videos and pictures online of his visit to the Abia home of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and his pro-Biafra activities purportedly backed by the government of Turkey.
