According to Premium Times, the Senator could not leave the court house after his court hearing because SARS officials wanted to arrest him.
The lawmaker was arraigned on Thursday, March 1, 2018, for allegedly giving false information to the Police.
He was subsequently granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama.
The Senator was dragged to court after it was discovered that he allegedly accused Governor Bello’s aide of trying to assassinate him.
Melaye says he is ready for prison
After his trial, the Senator told journalists that he came to court prepared, displaying his toothbrush and toilet paper.
Melaye also said that he is ready to go to jail.
