Emir of Kano might still face probe panel

This is coming after the Kano state House of Assembly dropped the investigation of alleged corruption levelled against Sanusi.

A source at the commission also said “That the State Assembly stopped the investigation just two weeks after its commencement is like giving us the go ahead to continue where we stopped.”

The Chairman of the commission, Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado said “Our commission is empowered by section 6 of our laws to investigate whoever, no matter his position and as for this matter what I will say is that we have not destroyed our evidence. We have them intact, but I will not make further comments.”

According to Premium Times, the commission has also obtained two court orders to empower it to look into the allegations against the monarch.

This is coming after the Kano State House of Assembly dropped the investigation of alleged corruption levelled against Sanusi.

Reports say the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo and some prominent figures in the North talked to the lawmakers to sheath their swords.

The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is being accused of misappropriating funds meant for his Emirate.
