Reps pass bill separating NFIU from EFCC

The House of Reps have passed the bill seeking to separate NFIU from EFCC.

The NFIU has since been operating as a unit under the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This led to Nigeria’s suspension from the Egmont Group in 2017.

The Egmont Group sighted interference by the EFCC as reason for Nigeria’s suspension.
