The consul general further expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of voters, particularly women, who came to exercise their civic rights.

Abdou-Dodo advised opposition parties to accept the outcome of the election so as to move the country forward.

“We have to use this opportunity to call on the opposition to accept the outcome of the election in good faith so as to move the state forward “, she said.

She attributed the success recorded in the election to an enlightenment tour of 19 northern states she carried out before the poll.

Abdou-Dodo , however, urged citizens of that country living in Nigeria to continue to exhibit high sense of responsibility and ensure peaceful coexistence in their respective host communities.
