FG might ban Muslim women from wearing Hijabs

Soldiers recently arrested a female suicide bomber-Fatima Babagapchia, who was deployed to attack Maiduguri, Borno State.

President Buhari when asked if he was aware that female suicide bombers use hijabs to hide explosive vests, said "It (hijab) may have to be banned if this killing continues. We are taking a lot of security measures. At the parks, they are using metal detectors to screen people."

Speaking on Boko Haram, his announcement that the sect has been technically defeated, and the recent bomb blasts by the terror group, Mr. President said "What I said was that the Boko Haram ability to attack institutions, police posts, army barracks has been degraded. What they are doing now is using girls to carry explosives."

Buhari also said that the location of the Chibok girls has not been discovered yet.

His words: “There has been no firm intelligence where those girls are physical are and what condition they are in.

“What we believe from our intelligence, they kept on shifting them around so that they are not taken by surprise and get them (the Chibok girls) freed.”

The President also said that Nigeria is working hand in hand with neighbouring countries to ensure it secures the release of the girls.

He also expressed his government's desire to negotiate with Boko Haram.
