FG confirms Jonah Bawa as DG, Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre

Makinde said Bawa’s appointment followed the retirement of the former director-general, Mr Michael Fawole.

Mr Tolu Makinde, Director Press, Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, said in a statement issued in Abuja, that Bawa was appointed the acting director-general of the centre in February last year.

Makinde said Bawa’s appointment followed the retirement of the former director-general, Mr Michael Fawole.

He said that a letter conveying the approval and confirmation was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Solomon Dalung.

Makinde quoted part of the letter as saying: “I sincerely implore you to work hard; continue to justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating your competence, capability and commitment to revitalise the Centre.’’

Before his appointment as acting director-general, Bawa, an indigene of Yobe State, was the centre’s Director, Human Resources Management.

He holds a Bachelor of Science De­gree in Business Manage­ment from the University of Maiduguri and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

According to Makinde, the appointment took effect from June 20.
