The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of a former deputy governor of osun State, Iyiola Omisore.

According to The Cable, the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Omisore's arrest on Sunday, July 3.

The former senator was arrested in connection with funds allegedly misappropriated by the office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Prior to his arrest, Omisore had been declared wanted by the anti-graft agency for allegedly evading arrest, the claim which he denied and went further to sue the EFCC for defamation.
