Former SGF regains freedom

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) was released after spending three days in captivity.

Olu Falae has reportedly been freed by his kidnappers.

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) was released after spending three days in captivity.

He was abducted on Monday, September 21, 2015, from his farm in Ondo State.

His release has reportedly been confirmed by Governor Olusegun Mimiko and Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase is said to currently be in Akure for an official press briefing.

President Muhammadu Buhari had, on Wednesday, urged the police and other security agencies to do everything necessary to ensure Falae’s rescue.

Falae’s abductors demanded a ransom of N100 million which they later reduced to N90 million.

It is however not yet clear if a ransom was paid to secure his release.
