Ojukwu's son confirms that his father met with president

This is coming after the Biafra Zionists’ Federation (BZF) told newsmen that Buhari lied to Nigerians about Ojukwu during his speech.

President Muhammadu Buhari

Buhari, in his speech to Nigerians on Monday, August 21, 2017, said that Ojukwu agreed with him, after an extensive discussion in 2003, that Nigeria should be united.

In his words: “In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.”

According to Punch, Ojukwu’s son also said that his father told him about his discussion with the President.

This is coming after the Biafra Zionists’ Federation (BZF) told newsmen that Buhari lied to Nigerians about Ojukwu during his speech.

BZF’s leader, Benjamin Onwuka had earliercalled on the President to provide Nigerians with proof that the late Biafra warlord said so.

Speaking further, Ojukwu’s son also refuted claims by some Biafra groups that he was in support of their agitation.

He said “It has been brought to my attention that there is an article making the rounds on social media attributed to me refuting the remarks of Mr. President concerning his relationship and discussion with my late father.

“Let me state the following categorically: firstly, that I made no such comments to anybody, and secondly that I am aware that His Excellency’s (Buhari’s) comments were indeed factual.

“I have noticed a disturbing trend recently of fake news being attributed to me on social media. I don’t know who is behind it or what their motive might is but let me assure you that any time I feel the need to comment publicly on any matter, I will not do so via some anonymous email or anything of the like; rather be rest assured that there will be no ambiguity whatsoever as to whether the comments came from me.”

President Buhari, during his speech, also made it clear that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.
