‘He didn’t apologize to Buhari,’ Biafra leader’s lawyer says

The lawyer to Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu has denied reports that he apologized to PresidentMuhammadu Buhari.

The Radio Biafra Director is said to have apologized for ‘being rude’ to Buhari via a statement obtained by the Department of State Services (DSS).

However, Kanu’s lawyer, Vincent Obetta said that the claim was made in a bid to tamper with his client’s defence, The Cable reports.

“It is not true. The government is using every instrument to puncture what we are doing,” Obetta told the online news platform.

Kanu was recently charged with treason before the Abuja Federal High Court despite a previous order of the same court ordering his unconditional release.

The judge assigned to the case, Justice Ahmed Mohammedstepped aside after Kanu objected to his trial saying that he had no confidence in the court.

The Radio Biafra boss was arrested in October and supposedly granted bail but he was never freed.

Kanu's continued detention has led his followers to launch protests in various part of the country to demand his freedom.
