Soldiers flood streets in preparation for polls [PHOTOS]

Security has been heightened in many areas of Nigeria in preparation for the upcoming general elections.

Teams of soldiers have been sighted in Lagos, Anambra, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti States among others.

Travellers along various highways in the country were also stopped and searched by soldiers while making their way to their destinations.

The Nigerian Army has vowed to quell any attempts at electoral violence and it is believed that the soldiers were deployed for this very reason.

Meanwhile a Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled it illegal for soldiers to be deployed to polling units during elections.

Nigeria’s Presidential election is set to hold on Saturday, March 28.
