The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State has raided a popular drug addicts' den, 'The Black Street' in Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna, arresting about 25 suspected drug addicts.  Also, traffickers with cocaine and other unlawful drugs were intercepted ‪and paraded at the Kaduna headquarters of the agency.

NDLEA Kaduna State Commander, Samuel Azige, said both cracked and powder form of cocaine were recovered from the suspects during the raid.

‪Azige explained that, preliminary investigations revealed that, the suspects wrap the powdered cocaine and sell, while they hid and inhale the cracked ones.‬

"In fact, we have identified the owner of the houses the suspects use, and he told us that, he had made efforts to secure his  property against the addicts, but when he bough blocks to fence the house the boys packed the blocks and sold them.‬

‪"There is another house where they have completely sent the owner away. He had to relocate to another place because of their threat.‬ In fact, people have put their houses for sale around the area due to insecurity caused by these people," Ozige said.

Pulse gathered that some of the ‪recovered drugs includes: cocaine, Indian hemp, codeine, tramol, among others were displayed.‬

Also, the agency said it is presently trailing another drug baron, whose car loaded with drugs has been confiscated.

In an interview, a 22 year-old suspects, Barret Salihu, said he don't know why he was arrested because he don't sell marijuana.  "I don't know why I was arrested because I don't sell 'wee-wee'. I only take wee-wee.‬"

When I take wee wee (a name for marijuana in northern Nigeria), feel okay. But now, I have not taken it, and I am not feeling okay," Barret said.
