NAF training more tactical commanders to tackle security challenges

The Chief of Air Staff spoke at the combined graduation of Senior Regiment Officers Course for Very Important Persons Protection and Special Force Course, held at NAF Regiment Training Centre, Kaduna.

“We have invested in innovative and rapidly deployeable base defence asset and technologies that are also adaptable, and we have set in motion integrated defence concept for all NAF personnel,’’ he said.

Abubakar therefore charged the personnel to channel their energies and ideas in innovative ways that would add value to the service.

He stressed that NAF would continue to diligently perform its role in defending the territorial integrity, values and aspirations of Nigeria.

The air chief noted that internal strife has continued to create uncertainty and political dynamics ripe for civil disturbances, political upheaval, sectarian violence and insurgency.

“As such understanding the complexity of the situation and planning on how best to influence the emerging battle scenario becomes virile,” he said.

He pledged the unalloyed loyalty and total commitment of NAF to the Federal Government’s efforts at ensuring a peaceful, secure, united and prosperous country.

Leader of the Isreali Training Team, Major Roy Zechut, said ongoing threat of terrorism in the country demands for special unit to deal with extreme and complex situations.

Zechut explained that the training covered technical and tactical capabilities of conducting special operations.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total of 230 personnel graduated at the event.
