Anxiety in Yola as residents await Supreme Court judgement on former governor’s tenure

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nyako whose impeachment of 2014 was declared "null , void and of no effect" by the Court of Appeal in Yola, had gone to Supreme Court seeking re-instatement to complete his tenure.

The development has pitched his supporters against those of serving Gov. Muhammadu Bindow.

The groups are now engaged in debates as they prepare to roll out the drums to celebrate the outcome of the judgement.

“I am enthusiastic that Nyako will be back today to complete his tenure; we have confidence in the Supreme Court to do the needful”, said Ahijo Babangida, a supporter of Nyako.

Umar Hamman, a supporter of Bindow said that “there is no way for Nyako to return, his tenure is over and needs to accept the fact in good faith.”
