Muhammadu Sanusi II Foundation donates food items to Borno IDPs through Kano Emir

He said that the donation was facilitated by the Foundation, through the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.

The Qatar Charity Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Kano on Tuesday donated food items worth millions of Naira for feeding of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno.

Shiekh Muhammad Abdulaziz- Ajur, the Director of Operations of the Foundation presented the foodstuff to Borno Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mamman Durkwa, at a ceremony in Maiduguri.

Abdulaziz-Ajur said that the gesture was aimed at providing succour to the IDPs, especially during the Ramadan fast.

He said that the donation was facilitated by the Foundation, through the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.

He added that the items were sourced from Qatar by the Foundation.

``We approached the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, who contacted the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai, to enable us to deliver the items to the state government for onward delivery to the IDPs,'' Abdulaziz-Ajur said.

Responding, Durkwa thanked the Foundation for the gesture and promised judicious sharing of the items to the intended beneficiaries.
